The Role:

The Manager, Closing Attorney reports to the VP, Legal Counsel and is focused on overseeing the performance of and providing support to the legal assistants, paralegals, and associate, and closing attorneys on the Legal Team.  This person will train the legal assistants, paralegals, and associate attorneys through the due diligence process prior to a loan closing in accordance with  Fund That Flip’s guidelines.  The goal of the Manager, Closing Attorney is to ensure the team has clear direction and support, so they are able to work efficiently and effectively in delivering the best customer experience.    

Responsibilities:

  •  Lead and mentor a growing team of real estate legal assistants, paralegals, and associate attorneys on processes and best practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring Company and team performance benchmarks are met and exceeded.
  • Responsible for personnel management including, but not limited to, hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and monitoring productivity levels.
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and as an escalation point for issues and exceptions.
  •  Maintain thorough knowledge of guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure quality is our top priority and deadlines are met with ease.
  • Manage the loan documentation pipeline and remain conscious of turn times, work quality and competing deadlines.
  •  Communicate and coordinate with outside closing counsel, title companies and other vendors, as necessary, to ensure a speedy closing that protects the Company’s and customer’s interests.

Qualifications:

  • JD and good standing member of the Bar in one of the states we operate.
  • Prior experience in real estate closings with complex title issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequently changing work flow.
  • A proven people manager and coach.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • A “we-first” attitude.  Must be a team player.
  • Takes ownership of outcomes.
  •  Ability to make recommendations and work across departments to improve processes.
