The Role: Servicing Specialist

The Loan Servicing Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Servicing and is responsible for processing servicing requests & assessing risk from loan origination to payoff. This includes monitoring monthly payments, progress of construction, loan maturity dates and loan repayment.


  • Serve as the internal primary point of contact for the processing of construction draws, collection of monthly interest payments, processing of loan extensions, drafting of payoff statements, and other servicing related items.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with the ability to comprehend scope of projects and ascertain the ability and credibility of the Borrower focused on:
    • Providing exceptional service to our borrowers.
    • Proactively identifying risks to borrowers or projects
    • Coordinate and collaborate with Underwriting, Asset Management & Client Manager when risks are identified
  • Process construction draw requests.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to order project inspections.
  • Communicating with Capital Partners.
  • Review and process construction scope of work changes.
  • Work with the Finance Team to calculate and submit payoff requests.
  • Conduct Portfolio Reviews to ensure projects are progressing as planned and assessing risk.
  • Provide recommendations on loan extension requests as well as process finalized extensions.
  • Create and distribute various loan reports internally and externally.
  • Provide timely and detailed updates to investors as to the status of a given project.
  • Monitor and ensure insurance and property taxes remain current.
  • Work with borrowers to get set up ACH to facilitate automatic withdrawal processes.
  • Field general loan inquiries.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Business or communications degree preferred.
  • Ability to identify key issues and communicate through proper channels.  
  • Demonstrated ability to have high attention to details.
