The Role: Account Manager - Closing

The Account Manager - Closing closes loans to drive revenue for the firm. They quarterback amongst all internal and external stakeholders to ensure a smooth closing experience. They gather and conduct a high-level review of the documents needed to close before passing them on for review. The goal of the Closing Specialist is to ensure we have an accurate closing date, a great borrower experience externally, and a strong internal experience for all stakeholders. They are masterful communicators.


  • Owns every closing, regardless of outcome. A successful CS takes ownership of every single outcome, good or bad.  They are the focal point between the client, our internal team, and the third parties involved in the closing. 
  • Manages change across the loan closing process impacting structure or closing eligibility.
  • Engages clients to bring value through proactive management of potential roadblocks. 
  • Navigate changes and competing priorities bringing quality resolution to unpredicted issues. 
  • Owns communication to borrower and internal stakeholders. Ensures positive experiences  both internally and externally.
  • Identifies and remediates any gaps or communication issues within the closing process.
  • Accurately forecast and achieve closing dates.
  • Gather and conduct an initial review of needed documents to pass along to the CA.
  • Communicate with title companies, insurance, and counsels to drive the closing process.
  • Order and manage appraisals and pre-close inspections.
  • Adhere to internal processes and procedures, recommend improvements.
  • Proactively manage any complications by clearly communicating with all relevant parties.
  • Manage title work process for sign off by legal team.
  • Support post-close team on any trailing items.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge of overall FTF lending business.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
  • An expert in organization and time management.
  • Not one to make excuses.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • A “we-first” attitude. Must be a team player.
  •  High degree of self-awareness.
  • Someone who is motivated.
  • Detailed knowledge of valid documentation related to processing the closing
